During Super Bowl forty-three, Steelers were the favorites. The Arizona Cardinals were the adverse team. Since my favorite football team wasn't playing in the Super Bowl I rooted for the Cardinals. I rooted for the Cardinals instead of Steelers because the Cardinals were the adversed team and not a lot of people were rooting for them. I just like to root for a team that is unfavorable to win the Super Bowl when my favorite team didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

The word adverse means opposed, hostile or unfavorable. I chose this video because Sean Penn is unfavorable to the war. This video relates to the word because Sean Penn is talking against the war and everything wrong about it which shows why he is opposed to it.  The people in the crowed are also showing how they are adverse to war because they are cheering him on and agreeing with him.

The word adverse means opposed or unfavorable. In this picture, the man with two heads asks the jusdge if his two heads is an adverse effect. The cartoon is saying that medicine can cause adverse effects. In this case, a double head is an adverse effect.

Two synonyms for the word adverse are, inimical and antipathetic.  Two antonyms for the word are, friendly and favorable.  Inimical means unfriendly, or hostile.  Antipathetic means opposed or contrary.  These two words are similar to adverse because adverse means opposed, hostile, unfavorable, and these two synonyms mean pretty much the same thing.  Friendly means nice or kind, and favorable means creating or winning favor.  These two words are the complete opposite, because friendly means nice, and adverse means hostile.  Favorable means creating or winning favor, and adverse is like a complete opposite of that.
