Syn: trustworthy, truthful

Ant: lire, alias

Responce: the reason I chose the word alias is because the definition of the word is: assumed or false name. The definition of the word credence is truthful. When someone is lying about their name and other people are believing them, is the antonym for credence. This fits very well in my opinion because the antonym of alias would be not lying about a name, telling the truth; which is truthful just like the vocabulary word's definition.

The word credence is such a popular and most used words in our culture. The words you hear might not be credence, but also it might be credit, trust, confidence, and more, which is snonyms to the word credence. Like mortgages, they look at your credit score to see if your a credential person. So, the credit report is like a report of how trustworthy you can be. Teachers have some credence to the students, but they want to make sure that they don't cheat. So the teachers use websites such as turn it in to see if students don't cheat and copy. So the turn it in website is a very vaulable and credential site to all teachers.

This article is about someone possible having the iPhone 4G or iPhone HD. The article question whether or not this is true or just a hoax. They say, "if Engadget (presumably a reliable gadget source) gives it credence  who are we to say Bogus?" They must believe that Engadget is a very reliable source because they are saying if they believe it is true than who are we to question them.

Credence is a belief.  Two synonyms for the word is trust and confidence.  Trust is a confident expectation of something, or hope.  Confidence means full trust, belief in the powers, or reliability of a person or thing.  Trust relates to credence because they both share a general understanding of hope.  Confidence relates to credence because it means belief in the powers, and that is what credence pretty much means.  Two antonyms for credence is distrust and faithless.  Distrust is not similar to credence because distrust means lack of trust.  They are two totally different words.  Faithless does not relate to credence at all because it means without trust or belief.  They are completely opposite words.

Activity 3

Credence is a belief. When you give credence to a claim, you are proving it. For example, a video is credence that something happened. Another example is a letter of credence. The Declaration of Indepence is a letter of credence and the below video is about the Declaration of Independnce.

To represent credence, I chose the picture above. Credence means belief. When I hear the word belief I immediately think of religion, and most religions involve prayer. Most religious people have trust and confidence in their beliefs.
